Cants Mere at 3 acres is mainly a Carp Fishery. The biggest common has topped 44 lbs and the biggest mirror 36 lbs, with many of the carp in the 20-35 lb bracket.
rudd,perch and eels are also present.
20 small pike were stocked between October 2015 and March 2016, with some now showing at 15 lbs+.
Depths average 9-10 feet.
The fisheries management team removed most of the small common carp. 35 larger carp, between 18 and 23lb were stocked from Blunts Mere, to create a specimen fishery. Most of them now topping 30 lbs.
7 C7 mirror carp were stocked in November 2022 between 22-26 lbs.
