Braxted Back Lake

Depths to 18 ft this little gem has it all, deep margins, overhanging bushes, big weed beds, gravel bars, silt pockets. Within its beautiful clear water lurk some of the most sort after commons in Essex. Two carp go 40 lbs+ with one of them having topped 50lb+ at the right time of the year. There is also a good head of 30 lbs+ carp.  Good quality boilies can be the winning method along with good location. Also present are a number of specimen Tench which hang around the 7-9 lb mark but have been out over the magical 10lb. There are a number of smaller specimens which thrive in this rich environment.

The Back Lake can also give a good days float fishing with Roach and perch to 2 lbs+, some decent bream and Rudd and plenty of eels.

A large padded unhooking mat is advisable for this lake to protect these beautiful creatures.
