Back Lake

As from Monday 4th Dec 2023 the Back Lake and Reenies Pool at Boreham Mere will be closed until at least May 2025.
The Main Lake is NOT affected.

This is because we will be doing extensive work on and around the Back Lake, including bank work, new swim fronts and a new stocking of fish.
The lake will be drained, netted and silt removed. All carp will be removed along with any pike and silver fish. The fish removed will be found new lakes and the EA have said they will take any remaining fish.
Upon completion of the work the lake will be restocked with crucian carp, rudd, tench and perch.

Whilst we appreciate that some members enjoy fishing the two lakes it has become apparent the left hand bank is undercut and trees are in danger of falling into the lake. Steps and swims need repairing. The reeds and lilys need thinning out. This will give us an opportunity to do these jobs.

Once the work is completed we will have a lake for pleasure and match style fishing alike, something we do not currently have to offer.
